I recently fractured 5 ribs and bruised my liver. After returning home from the hospital I have been unable to sleep as it has been impossible to lie down flat. This chair arrived today and my husband assembled it in less than an hour. It offers perfect fit and comfort! I'm looking forward to sleep for the first time in days. The stitching is a little less than perfect in places and there are a couple of very minor scratches on the base of the chair and base of the ottoman - not visible to others. I wouldn't put an item of this quality in my main living areas. However, it is perfect for my master bedroom or office. Does not give the impression of sturdiness for a high-traffic area. But I couldn't be more thrilled.BTW - I'm 5'2" 135#. My husband is 5'1" and 150#. It's just as comfortable for him.Love the chair but the assemble instructions are not very good. Had to disassemble step 1 to complete step 2. The chair is very firm, good support and comfortable. Looks good too.I like it. Went together pretty easily and works for me well. I am a medium built guy and I fit it great. It is comfortable and a great chair for my music room when I listen to records.Very comfortable chair, easy to assemble, been using it for a week and it's worn in nicely. However, there was of course damage to the dark wood base from poor shipping packaging. I now expect this when ordering from Amazon or other flat pack furniture, and am keeping it, but I don't understand ... I'd gladly pay $5 more to cover better packaging materials. Was painful to assemble - needed two people for sure. Chair is fairly comfortable and will probably get a little better with more use. There is a little movement regardless of where you set the recline at, not a big deal just a little annoying. It's not real leather and I don't know how long it will last but for the money it's a good chair. The box was pretty beat up but the contents were fine. The install was pretty easy, we just had to loosen the bolts by the armrests to get those in. Looks nice and is fairly comfortable. Not bad for the price, needed something to recline but small. So far it is good. This is a nice, comfortable chair, unfortunately the faux leather on the arms deteriorates after 3 years and the chair had to be discarded. I paid less than $300 in 2019 which wasn't bad. I don't know if I'll spend $400 for another 3 years. My first impression was "hmm...kind of lightweight, hope it is worth it", but once it was together, it is remarkably sturdy. It is NOT leather, but looks nice and seems very well built. We purchased a 2nd chair (identical) and both are great. Now for the bottom line:Pros:- Sturdy, nice looking, well built, great price- Comfortable, decent lumbar support (not huge, not small)- Fits into smaller spaces than most other recliners- Ottoman is also comfortable, light, easy to move, great looking, well designed/built, and serves as a great spare seat for short conversations or when putting on shoes- overall, no real complaints from either of us...we are happy with the purchases.Cons:- The reclining mechanism is a bit jerky until you get used to it (I can't count the number of times I "snapped" it into and out of the reclining position). I am considering it operator error.- The swiveling mechanism is my biggest long term concern. The bottom swivel rail is a thick plastic--not metal. It glides fairly smoothly and quietly because it is plastic, but I don't know how long to expect it to last without cracking or breaking (eventually). In the end, if we lose the swivel ability in the future, I plan to remove the rail completely, put felt pads on the wood base, and go "swivel less" from then on. Seems easy enough if that happens.- The black fabric covering on the bottom of the seat is questionable. I have dining chairs with similar material under them. The fabric on two of those dining chairs has completely disintegrated, and I replaced that fabric with normal material using a staple gun on both chairs. It is just cosmetic in every case, and is limited to the fabric on the bottom of the chair anyway (so it would be tough to notice it was gone, even if it was never replaced. The clean up of messy disintegrating fabric was the worst part of the ordeal). However, the fabric on the 6 other chairs is still fine, so it seems like a "hit or miss" item.- The chair "pleather" material does squeak against itself (as the material rubs together) when you move around a lot, or are reclining. I don't find it annoying, but I could imagine it could be a problem for some people. I was in a new office last week and all their chairs made the same amount of noise when we sat in them or moved around. I would not have noticed except I was paying attention after buying these chairs and was getting ready to write this review.- Finally, it would be optimal if the arm height could be adjusted (I think this might be asking a lot for the price), but sometimes, I want the armrests higher, which seems worth mentioning. They are currently no different than a normal sofa height.Again--we really like our chairs! The pros significantly outweigh the consI have a chronic back pain condition and having a chair that supports my back is essential. For me, this is the best chair I've ever bought, very comfortable and I have far less pain after using it.I am absolutely delighted with it. As far as assembling it is concerned, I did need someone to do that for me.He found it reasonable . It is worth every penny.Marian, Swansea.Happy to admit we went for the cheaper option - 'used, repackaged' - but with no instructions, no screws, no bolts, and a wood base scratched and chipped all over - what were we supposed to do - call Dr Strange? Returned - poor show, Amazon, poor show ...Love the design, very comfortable and looks classy on my boatGreat value for money. Very comfy and stylish. It's very sturdiness and not difficult to assemble
